Aims
The module will provide the students experience of the environmental remediation and rehabilitation in developing and developed world. This field class involves relevant practices on real case studies. The students will learn the key principles and procedure of environmental remediation and rehabilitation and apply their knowledge to tackle real work problem. The students’ skills and knowledges on understanding and solving the real environmental problems will be solidified through comparative learning and hands-on practice.
Learning outcomes 
A Critically analyze the cause and environmental consequence of a contaminated or disrupted site case by case

B Gain a deep understanding of the current situation and future development for environmental rehabilitation in the developing world, especially China

C Conduct independently investigation on the environmental remediation rehabilitation issues in developed countries, and apply the experience to tackle similar issues in developing countries.

D Master the principles for environmental rehabilitation projects

E Integrate the knowledge from previous modules and field information to analyze real world problem critically.

Method of teaching and learning 
The module will be field trip focused, combined with lectures, and flipped classroom and case study. The oversea field trip will visit a closed site with industrial contamination. The students will learn the history, influence and remedial plan by communicating local citizens, environmental companies, and local universities and government. The principles of environmental rehabilitation and the background of the investigation area will be clearly presented before the field trip through lectures and flipped classroom.
